The roots of history of ‘’Askaneli brotehrs” come from the village Askana. The name of the village itself is connected with the work of Askanels – Bakhusis’ descendant who was the son of Enesis was called as Askanius. If there hadn’t been a wine maker Antimoz Askaneli –ancestor of Asknalels, the legend would have remained only as the legend. In wine depository built by Antimoz there is the Qvevri dated 1880. The company of Askaneli Brothers owns wineries in the Kakheti-zone of Kindzmarauli and in Guria in the district of Ozurgeti at the Village Bakhvi. The company has been responsible for the preservation of production of a unique species of wine called Chkhaveri. Askaneli Brothers is one of the exceptions in Georgia in having dedicated equipment for the production of brandy and Chacha. Strict supervision over all stages of the production processes, as well as low temperature treatment, provide an opportunity for manufacturing of a wide assortment of high quality wines. Alaverdi Monastery Wine Cellar is a remarkable place where history is tightly bound with the modern world. The wine is produced by the endemic variety of Kakhetian vine in unique clay vessel – Qvevri.

History of Alaverdi Monastery takes the start from the VI-th century. It is located at the foot of the greatest Caucasus Mountain, on the west bank of Alazani River in Kakheti.

           The cellar is within the monastery walls, and was built on the site of the old cellar of 8th-10th centuries and includes a large room of 11th-century construction with Qvevris buried in the floor. Not much remains of the original ancient wine cellars that were part of the Monastery, which was built in 1011.

            The renewed cellar has been functioning since 2006.  Since then traditional white and red Qvevri wines have been produced by the five monks working there. The climate, air and earthen flavor of this place give the wine a special aroma, velvety taste, high anti-oxidant and other healing properties.

The company “Badagoni” was founded in 2006 and now owns a winery with one of the most modern technologies in Eastern Europe. Badagoni has been successful over many years in the world of wine, winning gold, silver and bronze medals and the title of “The best Georgian wine”. At the end of 2016, creating a precedent in the history of qvevri wine, a bottle of “Alaverdi Traditions” won the Gold Medal and the title of “Best Local Wine” at the International Competition “Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit. Badagoni’s qvevri wine is found in Alaverdi Monastery in the 9th century Marani, which was restored in 2006 by the company Badagoni.

Bagrationi 1882 is the leading winery in Georgia to specialize in sparkling wine. The name of Bagrationi 1882 gives a hint of the illustrious lineage of the family who founded the company, dating back to the Georgian prince, Ivane Bagrationi-Mukhraneli who began producing sparkling wine using the classic bottle fermentation method and achieved international recognition. Bagrationi 1882 is now the market leader for Georgian sparkling wines and produces more than 10 deferent ones with an 80% domestic market share. The company tries to employ both the “Methode Traditionnelle” originally developed for the production of fine champagne as well as the Method Charmat, to create a range of sparkling wines perfect for abroad range of drinking occasions and palates.

Château Mukhrani is based on the historical tradition of wine-making in Mukhrani region. This is the first and the only true Georgian Royal Chateau, which unites four key components: vineyards, winery, castle and history. Mukhranian wine production was established by Ivane Mukhranbatoni a famous representative of royal family, political and public figure of the 19th century.

New investment group aims to create strong international brands, which will serve as a profound representative of Georgian wine on international market. Corporation Kindzmarauli is located at the historic Kvareli castle in the town of Kvareli. Danieli Winery is a small family-owned estate from generations of Kakhetian winemakers. It located in Akkmeta district in the village of Argokhi. The Philosophy of Danieli Winery is to rediscover, respect and enrich Georgian Wines by honoring the land and local viticulture traditions as well as applying modern technological practices. The success of the Dugladze Wine Company is to a great extent due to Dimitry Dugladze. A gifted businessman and a professional, he played an important role in the development of Georgian winemaking. For all his life he aimed to provide high-quality products for consumers in Georgia and abroad. Now his sons successfully continue his business. The company owns vineyards in different regions of Georgia. To augment its own production, the company purchases more than 2,000 tonnes of grapes from farmers, selecting them by varietal purity and quality. All the equipment used by the “Dugladze Wine Company” is made by leading international companies, such as “Della Toffola”, “Krones”, “Cavagninno & Gatti”, “Seitz Enzinger Noll”. The company’s production capacity is 15,000 bottles per hour. It has a modern laboratory, which has the equipment for a wide range of physic-chemical analysis. The company is certified according to ISO22000 by TÜV SÜD.

This small winery in the village of Shalauri, just to the east of Telavi, is run by the family Dakishvili. The family comes from Pankisi gorge area, where ancestors started growing grapes and producing wine for more than ten decades ago. The starting point was priest Simon who was growing unique grape type “Qisturi”. Unfortunately, he became a victim of red army repressions and was found dead in 1928.

Three generations now work in the company producing wine only from the grapes grown in their own vineyards under the 100% control of the cellar and is turned under the “estate bottled” definition.  European and traditional Qvevri production methods are used in the winery.

GWS is one of the most famous wineries in Georgia. The company founded in 1993 in Telavi, Achinebuli on the base of the famous winery “Telavi2”, created in 1976.

The owners constantly discuss cognac distillation methods. This is the oldest producer of brandy in Georgia, having been established in 1884. Its founder, David Sarajishvili, pioneered the production of brandy in Georgia using classic French cognac technology.
